What is laser non-ablative skin resurfacing and how does it work?

Laser non-ablative rejuvenationis a process of skin rejuvenation using laser energy without damaging the epidermis.

Laser energy is converted into thermal energy. The controlled thermal stimulation stimulates the extracellular matrix and triggers collagen formation.

By interacting with the water molecules contained in the skin cells, the radiation has a toning and regenerating effect on the skin and initiates the process of its rejuvenation.

The water content in the epidermis is about 10-15%, in the deep layers of the skin much more - 70-75%. Because of this, the effect of the beam on the epidermis is minimal during the non-ablative laser rejuvenation procedure.

Passing through the manipulator, the laser beam is divided into microbeams in the form of a lattice, forming closed coagulation columns in the deep layers of the skin, located at equal distances from each other. During the session, the skin cells around the pillars are exposed to heat that activates metabolism and promotes cell renewal. Old cells are destroyed and replaced with new ones, making it possible to achieve thislifting effect. The skin regains elasticity, even tone, looks younger.

Indications and contraindications

The non-ablative laser rejuvenation procedure is ideal for:

  • elimination of visible age-related changes in the skin - wrinkles, folds, sagging, dryness;
  • removal of age spots;
  • complexion improvement;
  • correction of keloid scars;
  • fighting acne, etc.

Laser rejuvenation is not performed if the patient has any of the following contraindications:

  • oncological diseases;
  • inflammatory processes on the skin;
  • exacerbation of a chronic disease;
  • Pregnancy and breast feeding period;
  • immune deficiency etc.

The decision to carry out a laser rejuvenation procedure is made by a specialist doctor after examining the patient.

How is non-ablative laser rejuvenation performed?

Before the session, the skin in the treated area is cleaned, in some cases peeling is performed. A beautician uses a laser beam on the skin surface in the problem area, bringing the manipulator closer to the skin.

During the session, the skin does not experience any discomfort thanks to the cooling system built into the manipulator. For this reason, laser rejuvenation does not require additional anesthesia of the treatment area.

session results

The condition of the skin improves noticeably just 1-2 days after the laser treatment. It acquires an even and fresh shade, the lost elasticity returns, small wrinkles and age spots gradually disappear. Active rejuvenation of skin cells has a strengthening and toning effect, thanks to which the patient looks 5-10 years younger.

In terms of effectiveness, the procedure is in no way inferior to the results of plastic surgery. Safety, the absence of surgical intervention and the postoperative recovery period make this method extremely popular with both women and men.
